Coronavirus Update

Due to the current COVID-19 Virus situation and the restrictions being implemented across the country by the CDC, we are taking these precautions. Beginning today, June 26th, the church will be closed for at least two weeks with no services on site.

The plans are for the Sunday Message to be live streamed on YouTube.

I pray that all is well with your family. My family is doing well. I do have some sad news. Trish Slayton’s daughter Jenae lost her boyfriend Jose. He passed away from complications from Covid-19. Please pray for her and the children. This virus is coming closer to our families. Caleb and Ginger Godby have tested positive for Covid-19. They were in our Worship Service this past Sunday. John and Joy have been tested. They should get their test results tomorrow. Many of you already know that Roz Yoder, Ashley Godby’s mom has also been diagnosed with Covid-19, as well. Ashley is Chris Godby’s wife.

It is very possible that many of you could have come in contact with the virus. After much discussion, the staff and deacons have decided to not have Worship Services for the next two weeks. We felt it was best to be on the safe side of this dilemma. If you have symptoms, please get tested. The incubation period is fourteen days.

Not everyone has email. If you know someone that would not receive this email, please take a moment to inform them about the change in our Worship Services. Our next scheduled Worship Service will be July 12. We are looking at some possibilities to stream at least the weekly sermon from our home. You will receive an update if we can make this happen.

We still need to continue our prayers for the Westway family: The Godby family, for Clarita Cornibert’s loss of her mother, James and Yolanda Mitcham, Dennis Benton, Connie Campos, Sue Capshaw, the Chestnuts: Lucille, Keith and Julie, Sandi Crawford, Chris Goodwin, Hazel Holmes, Donald Huckleberry, Kenneth and Cindi Hughes, Sidney Hughes, Betty Mitchell, Robert and Brenda Moore, Mary Nevels, Carol Newsome, Eva Ray, Carla Smiley, Tom Snyder, Loleen Styers, Mary Valdez, Bill Vineyard, Harold Wood, Bob and Eileen Sidlo’s son Robert and his wife.

Hebrews 6:19 says, “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast” (NKJV). These are definitely difficult times for everyone, but we as Christians have a Savior. His name is Jesus. Ruth Caye Jones wrote: “In times like these, I have a Savior, In times like these I have an anchor; I’m very sure, I’m very sure My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock! This Rock is Jesus, Yes, He’s the One; This Rock is Jesus, the only One! I’m very sure, I’m very sure My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!”

Have a blessed day,
Bro. David
